The Star Awards 2020
Shortlist is revealed
We are delighted to announce this year’s shortlist for the Star Awards after receiving a record number of nominations. In total 700 were received, recognising some of the best healthcare professionals at Sandwell and West Birmingham NHS Trust, which runs City, Sandwell and Rowley Regis Hospitals, as well as three GP surgeries, Your Health Partnership and Leasowes Intermediate Care Centre.
This year’s nominations naturally reflect the unprecedented impact of the COVID-19 pandemic but also all the other work that has gone on throughout the past year, in particular the launch of Unity, our electronic patient record. Our judges definitely had a challenge this year whittling down the 700 nominations to our final shortlist which we are thrilled to share with you.
Leading the Star Awards judging panel, Chairman Richard Samuda said: “Congratulations to all of the nominees – Star Awards is a wonderful opportunity to recognise all of the hard work and achievements of our staff.”
Categories include a new Nurse/Midwife of the Year award in recognition of International Year of the Nurse and Midwife 2020, which honours the 200th birth anniversary of Florence Nightingale. Other awards include Employee of the Year, Digital Leader of the Year and the Prize for Innovation
