Respiratory Physiology
Operating from both City Hospital and Sandwell Hospital sites, we are a large Respiratory Physiology and Sleep Physiology Service with over 6000 patient interactions per year providing Respiratory Diagnostics, Sleep disordered breathing & ventilation and Home Oxygen Assessment & Review (HOSAR) services.
In our sleep disordered breathing & ventilation service alone we are currently caring for over 4000 patients on Continuous Positive Airway Pressure (CPAP) therapy and over 300 patients on Domiciliary Non-Invasive Ventilation (NIV) therapy.
We are a training department taking students from the national training programmes at both Degree and Master’s Degree Level as well as developing our own team via the Healthcare Science Practitioner Training Programme Degree and the Healthcare Science Associate L4 Apprenticeship.
