Valentine’s Day “Big Draw” at City Hospital

5th Feb 2013

Patients, visitors and staff are invited to get creative this Valentine’s Day at City Hospital for the Trust’s annual Big Draw.

On the 14th of February Sandwell and West Birmingham NHS Trust are inviting patients, visitors, staff and members of the public to the Birmingham Treatment Centre for a free drop-in art session with a romantic twist.

This year participants will have the chance to make Valentine themed decorations which will be displayed in the atrium of the Treatment Centre for all to enjoy.

Visitors can also make key rings and badges to give as gifts to their loved ones.

The Big Draw is being held on the first floor of the Birmingham Treatment Centre between 11.00am and 2.30pm.

It will be led by a professional artist and fine art students from Sutton College. Both adults and children are invited to come along and join in.

This Big Draw is an annual event run by Sandwell and West Birmingham Hospitals Art Programme.

Andrea Graham, the Trust’s Art Lead, said: “This is the third Big Draw we have held and they are always great fun!”

“It’s a fantastic opportunity for staff and patients to relax and forget the pressures of everyday life.”

The Trust’s Art Programme began in 2010 and relies mainly on local art students and staff who give their time and talents on a voluntary basis.
