Families receive warm packages from kind-hearted companies
Expectant and new parents at City Hospital received a goody box filled with essentials to keep them warm for the winter – thanks to two organisations.
Energy company National Grid funded packages containing hats, gloves, flasks, socks, torches and information on what to do in an emergency and worked with Hope 4 U to distribute them to patients at the Birmingham hospital.
Afrah Muflihi, Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Lead Midwife, said: “We are incredibly grateful to Hope 4U and National Grid for delivering these packages to our families. We believe in lending a helping hand, especially when it comes to the well-being of our community. These care packages will provide comfort to those who need it most.”
Hope 4U offers a range of services to the community to help tackle issues such as poverty and also work to improve financial stability.
Luke Arnold, Director for the organisation, said: “Hope 4U are delighted to be funded by National Grid to provide much needed support to expectant and new parents at City Hospital. As the weather gets colder and budgets are stretched further, more individuals are finding it harder to keep warm, buy food and pay their bills.
“This winter National Grid generously supplied warm packs to distribute to people in the hospital who are struggling and vulnerable.”
