What is an apprenticeship?
An apprenticeship education programme is an integrated work based training and development programme designed around the needs of the employer which develops the knowledge, skills and behaviours of the apprentice and ultimately leads to a nationally accredited apprenticeship qualification. The apprenticeship programme consists of both theory and practice, so much of your learning is developed in the workplace with off-the-job training, assessment and pastoral support provided by our in-house training team, a work based mentor and your manager. Apprenticeship Standards are verified externally via an end point assessment process.

We offer a range of apprenticeships, in both clinical and non-clinical areas such as Healthcare Support workers (including Maternity), Business Administrators, Phlebotomists, Physiotherapy Assistants and Theatre Assistants.

Public Sector Target
The public sector apprenticeships target was introduced by government in April 2017 and sets a target for any public sector employer in England with 250 or more staff to employ at least 2.3% of staff headcount as new apprentice starts over the period 1 April 2017 to 31 March 2022.
