Community Respiratory
The Community Respiratory Service treats Sandwell residents with breathing problems. The service provides a holistic approach to those living with Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD), Asthma, Bronchiectasis and Interstitial lung disease (ILD). Patients are seen in community-based clinics and also in their own homes for those that are unable to leave their residence.
We work closely with patients and their carers, with an aim to provide the best possible quality of life and to reduce any impact their breathing problems may have on social activities. For each patient we develop a personalised plan and provide continued support. Patients can access our services directly only once they have been referred by a GP or healthcare professional and assessed by the team.
