Join Your Trust Charity for an evening of carols and seasonal cheer

22nd Nov 2019

Kind-hearted schoolchildren will perform at a charity carol concert to raise funds for a West Midlands NHS Trust’s charity.
Youngsters from Bristnall Hall Academy, in Oldbury, will join forces with Sandwell and West Birmingham NHS Trust’s Your Trust Charity for the event which takes place on 4 December.

It will be held at All Saints Church, in West Bromwich.

It’s the first time the charity has hosted a festive concert, however the organisation collaborated with the school last year to release the Christmas single O’ Holy Night.

Money raised from ticket sales will partly go towards a new initiative called the Sing it Better appeal, which will see a group of volunteers visit wards at Sandwell, City and Rowley Regis Hospitals on a weekly basis and singing to them and encouraging them to join in. Funds will pay for music, training and equipment for the group. The rest of the cash raised will go to the Chaplaincy team.

Rev Mary Causer said: “This is a lovely way to raise money for our charity and it’s an opportunity to stop, take a breath and start your Christmas journey with your local community. The funds raised will directly enhance the experience of our inpatients, their families as well as staff. Research shows that singing really benefits people because it stimulates the brain, releasing oxytocin. This in turn reduces stress and will certainly help to relax some of our patients.

“We are really proud to be introducing Singing it Better into our Trust and what better way raise funds for this new initiative than by having a carol concert.”

Tickets cost £10 for adults with children under 16 going free. Tickets can be bought from Eventbrite (click here) with Early bird tickets are available for £8. For more information call Amanda Winwood on 0121 507 4847 or email trustcharity@nhs.net.
