Norovirus

Visiting restrictions at City and Sandwell Hospitals have been lifted, however restrictions remain in place for closed wards. These are currently Priory 5 at Sandwell Hospital and D7 at City Hospital.

People should not visit if they are unwell or have had symptoms of diarrhoea or vomiting within the last 48 hours. The winter sickness bug is widespread in the community at the moment. If a visitor has been in contact with the bug and passes it to a patient, it can quickly spread round a ward, despite thorough cleanliness and infection control procedures.
