The Trust is committed to training and developing all its staff to ensure high quality, safe and effective services are delivered to patients. We also have an obligation to meet statutory and regulatory training requirements to comply with directives set down by the Health and Safety Executive, along with other standards set by the Government and other regulatory bodies.
Mandatory training not only reduces the clinical risk to patients, but also lessens the likelihood of accidents or injury to employees or visitors. Training also reduces the risk of accidental damage to equipment, premises or property.
In order to accommodate the large number of disciplines present within the Trust, a Training Matrix has been developed. This identifies the training required, the staff groups that need to complete it and how often updates are required.
Clearly, mandatory training will depend on the role of individual members of staff (along with their seniority), but the examples below demonstrate some of the subject matters across all disciplines.
