Organised Activities
The Trust actively promotes a healthy lifestyle for patients, visitors, residents and staff. As such, we promote several initiatives to encourage a healthy lifestyle.
The Occupational Health team organises regular lunchtime and evening walks, running clubs, cycling clubs and more. The benefits of walking, running and cycling are well-known. They reduce the risk of coronary heart disease, diabetes, stroke and osteoporosis (thinning of the bones).
These organised activities also help staff to
- look and feel healthier
- increase energy levels
- sleep better
- save money
- enjoy the environment
- increase confidence
- reduce stress
- control weight
- make friends
These activities are jointly organised between Health and Wellbeing and Sustainability. They also encourage staff to consider not only their health, but also their impact on global sustainability issues.
