Organised in partnership with the Trust volunteer co-ordinators, WRVS, the party was attended by Acting Chief Executive, Mike Sharon and supporters of the Trust to give volunteers a special treat for their hard work, selfless dedication in supporting patient care and contributing to the running of an efficient healthcare Trust.
The event included talks, a meal and raffle draw for volunteers, where everyone was a winner.
WRVS Black Country Locality Manager, George Tzilivakis said: “There are currently over 100 volunteers
at the Trust and they fulfil a wide variety of roles from ward visitors to hospital guides, in shops, the chapel, library and hospital radio as well as in many other areas. They provide an invaluable service, are an integral part of the Trust and the party is a way of saying a big thank you to all of them.”
SWBH Acting Chief Executive, Mike Sharon said: “The event gives us an opportunity to thank our volunteers for all their hard work and dedication at this challenging and exciting time.
“The volunteers play a vital role within the Trust, but they will also be playing a valuable part in this important and exciting phase of the new hospitals developments and our vision to achieve FT status.”
SWBH volunteer for over 14 years, Mr Eric Beckford said: “I love the job and helping people. I think we should have more events like these to appreciate the hard work that volunteers do.”
