Search is on to find Customer Care Champion

1st May 2013

PATIENTS who have been pleased with the treatment, care or service they have received at Sandwell, Rowley or City Hospitals or from any Sandwell community based staff or team are being invited to nominate them for an award.

Sandwell and West Birmingham Hospitals NHS Trust, which runs the three hospitals and community services in Sandwell, has launched its Staff Awards 2013.

The trust is inviting members of the public to nominate a staff member or team for the Excellence in Customer Care Award.

The trust has nine Customer Care Promises pledging that staff:

  • will make you feel welcome
  • will make time to listen to you
  • will be polite, courteous and respectful
  • will keep you informed and explain what is happening
  • will admit to mistakes and do all I/we can to put them right
  • value your point of view
  • will be caring and kind
  • will keep you involved
  • will go the extra mile

Members of the public are being asked to think of a staff member or team who provides outstanding customer care or consistently upholds and demonstrates these nine customer care promises and nominate them for the award.

The awards were launched today by Chief Executive Toby Lewis and Chairman Richard Samuda.

Toby explained: “Our Staff Awards ceremony provides us with a way that we can publicly say thank you to our outstanding staff.

“So if you know of an individual or team that you feel goes the extra mile and more, please take the time to tell us about how they have helped you or made a difference to your lives.”

Click here for more information and to download a nomination form or call the Communications Department on 0121 507 5660.

Please return the form before the closing date of Friday July 12.

The winner will be announced at an award ceremony on October 18.
