Sandwell and West Birmingham Hospitals NHS Trust to hold Sustainability Garden Party

15th Sep 2014

On 17th September 2014, Sandwell and West Birmingham Hospitals NHS Trust will hold its second Sustainability Garden Party at City Hospital from 11am-2pm. The event will have different activities, including a cycling competition, free bike assessment, quiz and opportunities to win some cycling equipment when trying bikes out at the event. These activities will be taking place in a marquee on the grass area outside the old sister’s home at City Hospital.

The event, with participation from EDF, Weir Waste and Bike Right companies will also provide a wealth of information on energy waste, well-being and sustainable travel. The aim of the event is to raise awareness among staff of energy and resource efficiency at the Trust.

The event is free and open to the public as the Trust would like to promote sustainability widely to the staff and the community. Sustainability has been gaining momentum at the Trust in recent years and this is underpinned by the Trust’s Carbon Management Plan and Public Health Plan.
