I have worked as medical SHO, then Specialist Registrar in Cardiology in various Hospitals in the West Midlands before being appointed Consultant Cardiologist at the Trust in 2002. I have a special interest in heart failure since working as a Clinical Research Fellow at the University of Birmingham with the ECHOES study of heart failure prevalence, carried out at 16 general practices across the West Midlands. As honorary Senior Lecturer, I have ongoing research interests in the Epidemiology of Heart Disease in ethnic minority patients, drug treatments, and Cardiac Rehabilitation in heart failure.
