In October the FINCH service at Sandwell Hospital held its very first charity event to support patients. The night was hugely successful with the participation of more than 200 people and raised around £2,000.

It was an evening of music and comedy for which venue, The Range, Essington, and all of the acts had given their services for free and the money raised will be used to purchase the latest high-tech equipment to assist with the assessment and treatment of patients who suffer from debilitating bowel conditions, including bowel cancer.

Kelly Stackhouse and Elizabeth Clarson from the FINCH team organised theevent.

Kelly said: “The idea was based on feedback from patients, which showed they would like to see more fundraising events in order to help them to overcome their obstacles and help them feel part of society.”
