Cake sale brings out team spirit
The Paediatric team at Sandwell Hospital held a cake sale to support the BBC’s Children In Need appeal.
Paediatric Consultant Dr Maria Atkinson, who organised the event, said: “Everyone in our team has contributed. All of the cakes were made by our staff and the tables were decorated by children in our department. We really hope to make it a yearly event from now on”.
Avnash Nanra, ward manager at Lyndon 1, added: “I think this is a brilliant idea. It was such a collaborative occasion. This really brings out a good team spirit for such a good cause.”
Dr Sandeep Dubb, foundation doctor, said: “It has been such a fantastic day. We saw a long queue before we started selling the cakes. We managed to raise nearly £300 today. It is truly a team effort. We saw our colleagues, who were not on duty today, still come and give us support.”
