Liam Kennedy was appointed as Chief Operating Officer in March 2020 having previously worked for the Trust as Deputy Chief Operating Officer for three years.
He began his career within the NHS nine years ago, when he joined the NHS Graduate Management Training scheme. He said: “This was a defining career moment for me. I developed the skills and knowledge that has since helped me lead different functions and teams across a number of NHS Trusts. I have worked in project management, accounting and transformation positions, as well as a group manager in medicine, surgery and community services.”
Liam also completed a six month placement with Monitor, a regulatory body that was responsible for ensuring healthcare provision in NHS England was financially effective. As well as this, he has completed a management accounting qualification via the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants and a PgCert in healthcare leadership and management.
Before embarking on a career within the NHS, Liam worked as a science teacher having obtained a degree in Chemistry.
