We have been working to reduce our carbon footprint for the last few years and have a well-established Carbon Management Plan in place to help us measure, monitor and reduce our carbon emissions and achieve our reduction target.

Our target is a 15% reduction in 2011/12 baseline carbon emissions by 2016/17. As part of this Carbon Management Plan, we have installed PC energy saving shutdown software to reduce electricity wastage. We have also replaced our main steam boilers at City Hospital and Sandwell Hospital to reduce our gas consumption and are working on a scheme to install energy efficient lighting and controls across the Trust.
