Birmingham Treatment Centre

The Birmingham Treatment Centre opened on the City Hospital Site in November 2005 and replaced the previous Outpatients Department. The £35million development provides state-of-the-art facilities for one-stop diagnosis and treatment, including day surgery. It includes an ambulatory surgical unit with six theatres, extensive imaging facilities, an integrated breast care centre and teaching accommodation.

There are no plans to close the Birmingham Treatment Centre, which is likely to retain the following facilites:

Day case facilities with 6 operating theatres
Endoscopy Unit
Imaging (MRI, CT and Dexa Scans)
Outpatients (including paediatrics, ENT and colposcopy)
Breast Unit
Therapy
Medical  Illustration
Respiratory Physiology
Haematology-Oncology Unit
Admin & education
