Staff Support
The Trust is committed to developing its own staff. This is mutually beneficial: it helps the Trust retain a talented bank of experienced staff to continue to provide first-class services, and also enables individuals to meet their own development and aspirational needs.
We also help staff who may be affected by redundancy. We help them with re-training or developing new skills to help them meet the challenges ahead. These are of course daunting times, but we value our staff and will help them wherever possible.
The Trust is signed up to a scheme called Open for Learning which has access to:
- 650 statutory grants, loans, awards and benefits
- 150 corporate and industrial funds
- 1,650 charitable trusts
- College and University funding
Once registered, staff can search for funding opportunities. These can be linked to specific subjects, occupations, qualifications or localities. Staff can get further advice on how to apply for funding, and undertake further training or qualifications that will really help them with their career choices. This might, for example, involve Healthcare Assistants getting the university sponsorship required to become Registered Nurses, or for those nurses to go further and gain a Master’s degree.
The Learning Works can provide information, advice and guidance to anyone – staff or members of the public – on how to secure funding to support their development.
