Health and Safety
For every patient we try to identify things that may affect their safety, or the safety of our staff.
A care plan or other paperwork relevant to patients’ treatment is completed by our staff whilst they are hospital.
Details may record that a patient needs to be moved in a particular way or require special equipment.
It is quite possible that this information will need to be communicated to other staff in the hospital when the patient moves between wards and departments, when there is a change to who is caring for them, or to community staff or social services who may need to make arrangements for when the patient is discharged.
We will always maintain confidentiality in these matters.
Incidents relating to health and safety are reported and investigated to find out what went wrong and see if lessons can be learned to prevent another incident.
