M1
M1 is the Antenatal ward. It has 21 beds and cots, 4 of which are designated transitional care beds for mothers and babies who require extra support, but who do not need to be admitted to the Neonatal Unit.
Depending on their clinical care needs, patients on M1 are expected to stay no longer than 4 weeks.
M1 has open visiting times between 1-9pm.
The whole family are welcome to visit, but only 3 people can be at the bedside at any one time.
Ward Matron: Esther Rackley (Inpatient Services Matron)

Mums and babies staying on M1 will be treated by a multidisciplinary team which includes midwives, health care assistants (all of whom have had breastfeeding training), consultants and an infant feeding advisor.
