Urology Services
• Urology Services - Sandwell and West Birmingham NHS Trust >>
The Urology Department which is currently based at both the City and Sandwell sites offers General urological service as well as Sub-specialist tertiary referral care. The team of 5 Consultant urologists is supported by junior medical staff and Clinical Nurse Practitioners supporting a wide range of services for benign as well as malignant urological conditions. Outpatients as well as day care Urology are based at Sandwell and the Birmingham Treatment Centre. Inpatient services for elective and emergency Urology is currently offered at both sites with plans for merger to one site.

Genral Urology Services:
Benign Prostatic diseases: flow clinics and urodynamics
Erectile and Sexual Dysfunction: Nurse led ED clinic and Psychosexual counselling
Inguinoscrotal and penile conditions including circumcision and vasectomy service
Male and female urinary incontinence: urodynamics, physiotherapy and continence services
Cancer Urological Services:
Haematuria clinics and ProstaticTRUS biopsies meeting with 2 week referral criteria
Radical Pelvic Urological surgery is currently investigated and followed up on site but operated at UHB in accordance with Network guidance
Subspecialist Services:
Comprehensive management of renal stone disease: Stone clinic, Lithotripsy Ureteroscopy, Laser stone treatment, Percutaneous stone surgery
Laparoscopic urology: Nephrectomy, pyeloplasty
Paediatric Urology (Sandwell): Inguino-scrotal and circumcisions
