Speciality
I qualified from Birmingham Medical School in 1988, and undertook specialist training in plastic surgery, including two years research into nerve regeneration and wound healing, for which I was awarded a Doctorate and a Hunterian Professorship from the Royal College of Surgeons. I joined the Trust in 2002. I now specialise in plastic surgery of the breast; which includes breast reconstruction and the management of breast deformities such as tuberous breasts, breast asymmetries and poland’s disease. I also offer a general plastic surgery service and have an interest in gynae-oncology reconstruction. I helped to establish the Butterflies Breast Reconstruction Support Charity, based at the City Hospital, which actively supports newly diagnosed breast cancer patients who are considering breast reconstruction.
