Laser treatments available at Birmingham Skin Centre
Currently, some CCGs fund NHS treatment for certain conditions at the Birmingham Regional Skin Laser Centre, based at the Birmingham Skin Centre at City Hospital, Birmingham, for patients with skin disorders where laser therapy is required, including:
- hair removal
- tattoo removal
- vascular birthmarks (such as port-wine stains, telangiectasia)
- pigmented birthmarks (discoloured areas of skin)
- scar treatment
- skin tumours
Check with your CCG if your patients are eligible for laser skin treatment on the NHS, and if so, please send a referral letter to us. If you require further information please contact Ann or Nikki on 0121 507 6637 or 0121 507 6639 from 9am – 3.30pm.
However, if your patients have been refused NHS funding, or your CCG does not fund NHS laser treatment, they can still pay to be treated privately at the Birmingham Regional Skin Laser Centre. With prices being very competitive with the private sector, your patients can be reassured that they are being treated by an NHS consultant or nursing team in a clean, safe environment that is CQC registered.
The clinic is open for appointments Monday – Friday 9am – 12pm and 1 – 3.30pm. For further information ask your patients to contact Ann or Nikki on the details above, or for more information go to our dermatology pages.
