Speciality
I qualified in Birmingham in 1977 and trained at several Midlands hospitals, including Birmingham City Hospital between 1980 and 1983, as a Research Fellow and Medical Registrar.
In 1987 I was appointed as General Physician and Rheumatologist to the Trust in 2000. I moved into rheumatology alone in response to hospital and primary care development of community clinics.
My special interests include assessment of disease-modifying drugs in rheumatoid arthritis, changes on X-ray caused by arthritis, osteoporosis and arthritis in children.
In 2003, I was appointed lead clinician for rheumatology and from 2008, Clinical Director for rheumatology and clinical immunology.
